bàn xià is used for patterns with

general damp or phlegm hot or cold pathologies, liver wind-phlegm, spleen damp-phlegm, stomach phlegm-damp, stomach deficiency, stomach-heat, lung cold-phlegm, plum-pit qi.

symptoms indicating the use of bàn xià

cough with copious sputum, pressure or distention in the chest and epigastrium, vomiting, cold thin mucus, nausea in pregnancy, neck nodules, goiter, scrofula, lipoma, plum-pit qi, sores, skin ulcerations and carbuncles (topically).

stiff painful shoulder and neck, thirst, also from wasting and thirsting (diabetes), measles, diarrhea, dysentery, hypertension with headache, dizziness, tinnitus or paresthesia.

good to know!

ge gen is very nice in pregnancy for women who suffer from heart burn, acidity. they can buy it at the organic food store. the root is used in the japanese kitchen to bind sauces. take a teaspoon of the root, disolve it in cold water and drink it. it will help to neutralize the reflux.
